We have ran the course on 25th May 2022 and the course is best suited to road shoes. Any changes to our recommendation will be posted on our Facebook Group so please do join in order to remain informed. â€‹You can join by clicking here.

Please let us know if this event is a special occasion for you e.g. your first marathon attempt, a landmark half or full marathon or your first organised run and we will mention your achievement at our pre-race briefing!!

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF ENTRANTS AND THE POTENTIAL FOR THE THAMES PATH TO BE BUSIER THAN USUAL, ESPECIALLY IF THE WEATHER IS WARM, WE WILL BE OPENING BOTH OUR THAMES SIDE BREWERY COURSE AND OUR RUNNYMEDE COURSE.

BOTH THE BREWERY COURSE AND THE RUNNYMEDE COURSE WILL BE 4.37 MILES. FOR THOSE RUNNING 5k & 10k THERE WILL BE A TURNAROUND SIGN AT 2.5KM INTO THE ROUTE. 

​

WE ARE AWARE THAT SOME OF THE EVENT SITES LISTING PLACES DID NOT REFLECT THE CHANGE IN LOCATION. HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE RUNNING PAST THE ORIGINAL LOCATION ON THE RUNNYMEDE COURSE. FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE COURSES IS SET OUT BELOW.

TRAVEL AND CAR PARK INFORMATION

There is a Pay & Display car park at the venue. The car park takes contactless payment or coins and is expensive to park all day (approx £7.00 on a Weekday / Saturday and £2.00 on a Sunday). Please ensure you do pay as Parking Enforcement Officers do patrol the car park regularly. You can probably find cheaper parking nearby on Justpark.com for weekdays and possibly Saturday. There are normally spaces in Sainsbury's car park (0.2 miles away) available to pre-book for around £4.00.

If you are okay to walk to the venue there is some limited on-street parking nearby:

Church Street at the end nearest Lammas Recreation Group (0.1  miles)
Moor Lane (0.3 miles) but be careful as some parts of Moor Lane have parking restrictions.
Hythe Road (0.4 miles)
Avenue Road (0.4 miles)
Claremont Road (0.6miles)
Goring Road (0.5 miles)
Wendover Road (0.5 miles)
Other streets near Goring Road e.g. Wapshott Road, Bowes Road, St. Paul's Road, Wapshott Road

 
All of the streets in Bold are on the other side of the river from the Venue and the other side of a Railway Level Crossing which can take a while for the barriers to open. If you are parking in the street, please leave yourself plenty of time to get to the race HQ.

Other car parks:
If the Bridge Street car park is full, other car parks are available at the Two Rivers shopping centre - this is approximately 0.2 miles away from Bridge Street. There is plenty of parking here, especially early in the morning.

Arriving By Train
The nearest train station is Staines-Upon-Thames. It is about 1 mile from the Brewery and will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to walk.

Cycling
If you are cycling to the venue, there are places near to the start where you can lock your bike.

TIMINGS
05:30 - Race registration opens

06:00 - 50 mile event start time - For runners entering the 50 mile event only

06:30 - Early event start time - Wave 1 for runners entering both the early and the late events

09:00 - Early event start time - Wave 2 for runners entering the early event only

12:00 - Late event start time - Wave 3 for runners entering the late event only

14:30 - Late event start time - Wave 4 for runners entering both the early and the late events

16:00 - Early event finishes

21:30 - Late event and 50 mile event finishes

NUMBER PICK UP, CHIP TIMING & CHANGING YOUR STARTING WAVE
Number Pick Up

Number pick up is on the day of the event and you must wear your number. Please place your number on the front of you, facing forward. This can be on your running top or alternative on your running shorts or leggings. Your number should be facing forward, rather than to the side of your leg.

​

Please try and ensure you arrive early in order to pick up your race number and avoid any queues.

​

Chip Timing

The event is chip timed with the sensors being placed at the side of the path next to the start / finish area. As with all chip timing systems, they are approximately 99% accurate, but there is a chance the system does not register your chip. To minimise this risk, please ensure the following:

​

- Your number is placed facing forward, either on your top or your shorts.

- You do not fold your number as this could damage your chip.

- You avoid drenching yourself in water as electrical circuits are likely to be less responsive to the sensor signal if wet

- You do not hide your chip behind a mobile phone as your phone will stop the signal e.g. if you wear a sports belt and tuck the number behind the belt

​

Changing Your Starting Wave

You will all receive an email with an attachment to the start list. If you wish to change your starting wave you can do as follows:

​

1) 50 Mile Runners: You can start when your event starts or in Wave 1 or Wave 2. Please note if you start late, you will still have to finish by 21:30.

​

2) Dual Event Runners: You are defaulted into Wave 1 for your early event and Wave 4 for your late event. You can move your early event start to Wave 2 and your late event start to Wave 3.

​

3) Early Event Runners: If you have only entered the early event, you are defaulted to start in Wave 2 at 9:00am.  You can move so that you are starting in Wave 1, Wave 3 or Wave 4.

​

4) Late Event Runners: If you are only entered into the late event, you are defaulted to start in Wave 3 at midday. You can change your starting wave to Wave 4 only. Due to course capacity, we cannot permit you to start earlier than midday e.g. you are not permitted to start in Wave 1 or Wave 2 as the early event is full.

​

You can change your starting wave through to 6pm on Tuesday 31st May 2022 by clicking on the link in your email, which will open Google Sheets. Within Google Sheets, find your name and amend the starting wave. After this time, you will not be permitted to change your starting wave. We will confirm your final starting wave and time in an email on Wednesday 1st June 2022.

​

Finishing Your Run

When you finish your run, please ensure we are aware as we can remove you from the system. This will stop you chip being read in error. It is especially important to do this if you wait around for other runners to finish.

​

IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN EMAIL, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM / JUNK FOLDER. THIS IS ESPECIALLY THE CASE IF YOU HAVE A HOTMAIL OR YAHOO ACCOUNT. IF YOU HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED AN EMAIL, THEN PLEASE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. UNFORTUNATELY, HOTMAIL ACCOUNTS BLOCK SOME EMAILS WHICH ARE SENT TO MULTIPLE RECIPIENTS.

COURSE INSTRUCTIONS & RACE BRIEFING
Brewery Course

You will be sharing the course with runners completing various different distances. If you see runners going past a turnaround point, it may be that they are in a different event that has a slightly different course.

​

For runners in the Early Event, you need to be watching for the following turnaround signs:

​

1) 5k & 10k runners will be turning around at a PINK coloured sign which says "5k & 10k Runners Turn Around". If you entered these distances, you will need to turn here. If you have entered the time challenge event, half-marathon, marathon or ultra-marathon, you should ignore this sign. 5k & 10k runners will only run out to the turn around sign and back to the start on this course. Any one running any other distance will continue to the main turnaround sign at 2.2miles (3.5km).

​

2) Half Marathon, Marathon, Ultra-Marathon and anyone in the Time Challenge event, you need to continue until you see our BLUE turnaround sign with the wording Turn Around Here on it.

​

If you happen to see a pink sign with 50 Mile Runners Turnaround, you have gone too far! So please turn and head back!!

​

Areas to be careful where risks have been assessed as medium are as follows:

​

1) Approx. 0.15 miles from the start and at  3.0 miles (5k / 10k) or 4.22 miles for other runners, you will go over a small wooden bridge. After the wooden bridge (out) and before (back), the course narrows and is the narrowest point on this course. You will need to be especially careful if you approach this section just after the start of one of the other waves. We will have marshals at this point to assist and if required we will hold you there until the majority of the Wave has gone through this section. We expect Wave 2 start to be the busiest time at this section.


2) The Thames Path moves away from the river just before the Mecure London Staines Hotel, This is at 0.26 miles (0.42km) from the start. At this point you turn sharp left so the river is behind you for 50 metres. You will then turn right and join the footpath next to the main road. You will pass the front of the Mecure hotel on your right and after about 120 metres you will re-join the river (at the railway bridge) and you will continue the rest of the run next to the river. Don't worry, if you do miss this dog leg on any of the laps, you will just pass at the back of the hotel, which whilst it is a public footpath it is just very narrow. You will join back up with the actual route at the railway bridge. However, do let us know if you do this in error as it is 20 metres shorter - that way we can add a little bit on at the end of your run!

3) Penton Hook Lock can become quite busy if the weather is nice - please be careful through the offset lock gates. There are no gates to open, but the staggered fences created to ensure cyclists slow down can create a bottle neck. 

​

4) Residential Road after Penton Hook Lock: You will be running on a very quiet residential road for a short period of time. Please watch out for traffic and also be careful of the speed bumps which can be hard to see. The road services a few houses and is not part of a main road. It is unlikely you will see much traffic on this section, but you should remain aware.

​

Runnymede Course

You will be sharing the course with runners completing various different distances. If you see runners going past a turnaround point, it may be that they are in a different event that has a slightly different course.

​

For runners in the Early Event, you need to be watching for the following turnaround signs:

​

1) 10k runners will be turning around at a PINK coloured sign which says "5k & 10k Runners Turn Around" which is 2.5km into this course which is also at 7.5km in total for the event. If you entered these distances, you will need to turn here. If you have entered the time challenge event, half-marathon, marathon or ultra-marathon, you should ignore this sign an continue to the main turnaround sign at 3.5km into this course (10.5km in total)

​

2) Half Marathon, Marathon, Ultra-Marathon and anyone in the Time Challenge event, you need to continue until you see our BLUE turnaround sign with the wording Turn Around Here on it.

​

If you happen to see a pink sign with 50 Mile Runners Turnaround, you have gone too far! So please turn and head back!!

​

Areas to be careful where risks have been assessed as medium are as follow:

​

1) Approx. 0.10 miles from the start you will go up a small ramp which leads onto Staines Bridge. The bridge will take you across the Thames and onto the other side of the river. As you cross the bridge, there is a cycle lane next to the pedestrian section. Please be careful and look for cyclists when passing other runners or members of the public.

​

2) Approx 0.30 miles from the start and just after you have cross Staines Bridge, there is a sharp right turn which takes you to towards the river. The surface is a tiled brick floor and this can become slippery in wet weather conditions. As you move from tarmac onto the tiled surface and again when you approach the river and turn left when leaving this surface, there is a risk you could slip.

​

3) Roots and uneven surfaces are a risk on this course, especially after the small hump back bridge (approx 0.5 miles into the course). There is a section of unmade paths through the wooded section.

Across both the Brewery Course and the Runnymede Course, we expect all runners to keep left where possible. The route is on public footpaths and members of the public must be given the right of way, especially where the course is narrow.

​

The course is popular with cyclists and dog walkers, so please be careful and ensure you remain aware of your surroundings.

​

Race Briefing

We will provide you with a race briefing approximately 5 minutes before the start of your event. Please do not block the full path during the briefing or whilst waiting for the event to start as pedestrians and other users are likely to want to pass.

​

MEDALS & GOODY BAGS
All official finishers receive one of our fantastic medals and a goody bag too. If you have registered as vegan we have a vegan goody bag available for you.

AID TABLE FOOD
We are continuing with the no touch rule at the aid table. This means there could be some delays if the aid table is busy. We will serve you as quickly as possible in order to get you back running as soon as possible. We have no restrictions in place with what we can serve at the aid table and our comprehensive range of sweet and savoury products will be available to you. We have a good selection of vegan products available and some products suitable for gluten free dietary requirements. If there are any items you would like on the aid table, please let us know.

It is important you let us know if you have a food allergy, especially if you have a severe allergy to products that include nuts or dairy. If this is the case, we strongly recommend you bring your own food to the event in order to avoid the possibility of traces of an allergen or cross contamination during the event.
 
AID TABLE DRINKS
We have a range of water, squash, fizzy drinks and Tailwind available at the aid table. We suggest you bring your own reusable cup to the event as we are currently not using our reusable cups until Spring 2022 where we will, if we can, reintroduce these. We remain committed to removing all single use products, however until we can reintroduce our reusable hire cups, we will have some single use compostable / recyclable cups available if you forget your cup. Whilst compostable cups are better than plastic ones, they are still single use and if not disposed correctly, they can cause issues with recycling facilities.  Alternatively, you will be able to purchase one of our reusable cups for £5.00.

We have just re-introduced our cup holders and if you do not wish to run with your cup, you can use our cup holders. Please only put your cup in the numbered hole which is the same as your running number.
 
TOILETS AND CHANGING FACILITIES
The brewery has toilets but there are no separate changing facilities or showers. If you do wish to get changed, the downstairs toilets are large enough for you to change in. We request runners:

- Keep toilets clean and tidy e.g. please put the seat up if you stand up and put it back down when you finish! Also please wait to be able to flush if the cistern isn't full!
- Please let us know if the toilets are not clean

FIRST AID AND EMERGENCIES
We strongly recommend all runners download What3Words onto their mobile phone ahead of any running event. This can give a precise location to the medical team and emergency services. You can download this at https://what3words.com/products/what3words-app/

We recommend all runners store our mobile numbers in your phone for the event in case of an emergency. Alternatively, if you do not have your phone with you, that you have it written down just in case there is a medical need and you or another runner requires assistance.

Emergencies
1. In the event of a medical emergency you should, if you are able to, call the emergency services on 999 before calling us. You should be able to pinpoint your exact location using What3Words.
2. If you see another runner in need of a medical emergency, please ensure you phone 999 before calling us. You should be able to pinpoint your exact location using What3Words.
3. Please also pass a message onto the next runner so they can relay it back to race HQ / marshals on the course.
4. Finally, once you can, please contact us and we can get our medical team to you or the other runner quickly.

Non-emergency medical needs
1. Please call us if you have a non-emergency medical need on the course.
2. We will discuss with you your medical requirements and assess whether we need to send assistance to you or whether you will be able to make it back to Race HQ.
3. If we have to send medical assistance, please try and stay in your current location.
