About The Event:
Celebrate an iconic book / film with our 'Chamber of Runs' event and earn yourself an amazing 100mm double sided spinner themed medal. This is the second in a series of medals you can collect, with the first being in Durham on 5th April 2020. The event is a 7 hour timed event where you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. You can complete as many laps of a 6.6 mile (10.5km) loop course along the beautiful Northumberland coastline and country park as you wish within the 7 hour limit. We will have a 5km short lap finish point for any runners wanting to choose a shorter distance. We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap you will earn a fantastic themed medal. Alternatively, you may carry on running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We even have a 50K option for those wishing to run this distance!
There will be a distance pin for all runners who complete either a half marathon, mega half marathon, marathon, 50km or Ultra in the 7hr time limit which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
For those runners who choose to run 2 laps or more, you will also earn Saturn Running half marathon, marathon or ultra pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
The course is around Druridge Bay Country Park on well maintained paths, before heading to a section on the beach. The beach itself is hard packed so it feels more like running on hard ground than soft sand. After the beach section you return to the country park along well maintained paths. The beach section is subject to tide times and weather conditions and may be excluded from the final route if deemed necessary.
The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 6.6 miles. We will have a mini aid table set up at around 3.5 miles too. The toilets are situated in the Visitor's Centre which is available for our runners use for the entire event. There is also a small cafe situated within centre should you wish to use it.
Places are strictly limited and event registration will close once these are sold out.
Minimum distance is 5km or as far as you can go in 7 hours.
We have two events running at the same time. The main event is a UKA Permitted event and is for all runners aged 18 or over. In addition, we have a non-UKA event for runners under the age of 18. Runners under the age of 18 will automatically be included in the non-UKA start list and this event will start 1 minute after the main event.
IF YOU RECEIVED THE CHAMBER OF RUNS MEDAL AS A VIRTUAL RUN AND YOU WISH TO ENTER FOR A DIFFERENT MEDAL, PLEASE STATE YOUR PREFERRED MEDAL IN THE "WHERE DID YOU HEAR ABOUT SATURN RUNNING" BOX ON THE ENTRY FORM AND WE WILL DO OUR VERY BEST TO BRING THAT MEDAL TO THE EVENT FOR YOU. THIS WILL DEPEND ON AVAILABILITY AND WE WILL ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO BRING MEDALS FOR EVENTS IN THE FUTURE.
