About The Event:
We will be your Valentine at The Love Run and whether it is your first run with us or you regularly run with us, we promise not to leave you disappointed!! Is there a better way to enjoy Valentine's day than choosing how many miles you want to run within our 7hr time limit. You can complete as many laps of a 3.28 mile (5.3km) looped course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit and we always welcome runners of all abilities. As long as you complete at least one lap you will earn our Valentine's Day themed medal and some chocolate - so much better than a bunch of roses! There is no maximum distance and you can continue running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We will also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.
For those runners who choose to run 4 laps or more, you will also earn a Saturn Running half marathon, mega half marathon, marathon, ultra or 50k pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
The course is along the River Wear path and classified as a trail run.
The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 3.28 miles. The toilets are situated in the Durham Ameteur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event. There is also a bar and showers situated in Rowing Club should you wish to use them (although some facilities could be closed due to Covid-19). Parking is free on-street parking in nearby streets.
Places are strictly limited and event registration will close once these are sold out. Minimum age 12yrs. If you would like to run with someone under 12 please contact us directly. We have two events running at the same time. The main event is a UKA Permitted event and is for all runners aged 18 or over. In addition, we have a non-UKA event for runners under the age of 18. Runners under the age of 18 will automatically be included in the non-UKA start list and this event will start 1 minute after the main event.
COVID-19 POLICY: We will not be able to offer refunds should we need to postpone the event due to the ongoing global pandemic as the vast majority of our costs are incurred in advance of the event. We will, however, offer you the opportunity to defer your entry to a future event (you will receive this medal) or you will be able to run the event as a virtual run.
If the event is allowed to go ahead, but local authorities enforce a restriction on the numbers of runners,we will hold the event and limit the numbers based on the first entered basis. This means if you enter later and the run capacity is reduced, we will again offer you a deferral to a future event or the opportunity to run the event as a virtual run.
