About The Event:
This event would be a perfect training run for The Great North Run and due to popular demand we are bringing with us a number of our past medals!
This is a 7 hour timed event where you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. You can complete as many laps of a 3.28 mile (5.3km) course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit. We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap you will be able to choose from any of our previous iconic medals. Alternatively, you may carry on running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.
For those runners who choose to run 4 laps or more, you will also earn our half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50km or ultra pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
The course is classified as a trail run, however all paths are well maintained and no navigation is required.
The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 3.28 miles. The toilets are situated in Durham Amateur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event.
Our medals will be strictly allocated on a first come first served basis and must be selected from the drop down list. We will provide updates on our Facebook Chat Group on how many medals are left. Please be aware your first choice medal may not be available but we will allocate them on a first come first served basis.

We have two events running at the same time. The main event is a UKA Permitted event and is for all runners aged 18 or over. In addition, we have a non-UKA event for runners under the age of 18. Runners under the age of 18 will automatically be included in the non-UKA start list and this event will start 1 minute after the main event.
