About The Event

Join us to celebrate the 100th marathon of the very lovely KATHERINE MARTIN!!!! She is an absolutely awesome runner who completes many of our events and others and is always smiling down the towpath!

Katherine designed the medal as a nod to her nursing background and I think we can all agree that the medal and the pin are totally awesome and unique, just like Katherine herself!!!

The amazing medal also celebrates the life of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This is the first of our series of Running Through History medals celebrating the lives of some of the most famous figures throughout time.

Distance & Time

This is a 7hr Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7hr time limit which starts from the official event start time. It is 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or over for an ultra, we also have a 50km distance available.

Course

The course along a beautiful stretch of the River Thames. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. The course is mainly well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable all year round.

Medals & Pins

As long as you complete one lap, you will be an official finish and you will receive our fantastic medal. We also have distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are our Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement.

Goody Bag

Absolutely! You earned the calories after all, so all our finishers get a goody bag. As well as our standard goody bag, with a selection of various goodies to choose from, we also have a fabulous vegan goody bag for our vegan runners.

Aid Table

We have a fantastic aid table and drinks table at the start / finish of each lap. There is a great selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items at the aid table.
