About The Event

Come and join us for our very first Childrens St David's Day Dragon Run in the beautiful Dare Valley Country Park in, of course, Wales! St David is the patron saint of Wales and is celebrated every year on the 1st of March, so come and join in the celebrations of all things Welsh and maybe throw in some running too to mark the occasion!

Join us at Dare Valley Country Park for a family-friendly event where you can complete either our 2.5k or 5k route.

Perfect for kids and parents — everyone is welcome!

Distance & Time

This is a 2.5k lap or 5.0k run only run allowing runners of every age to compete in line with UK Athletics disance limits. 

Course

The course is around the beautiful Dare Valley Country Park on well maintained paths. There are lovely views of the surrounding country side making this an interesting course to run. We have a fantastic route that is all on well maintained footpaths. The route is subject to change depending on the weather.

Medals & Gift from Santa!

As long as you complete 1 lap of our 2.5km course, you will be an official finisher and you will get one of our incredible themed medals!

Venue Facilities

The venue has toilets available for runners.

Car Parking

There is free parking at the venue.

Race Day Instructions & Number Pick Up

Final race day instructions will be sent out via email in the week leading up to the event and will contain full race day information. Number pick up is on the day at race registration before the start of the event.

Other Information

There will be somewhere to leave a bag at the start / finish area. However, this is not a secure bag area and the items cannot be watched at all times so please do not leave anything valuable.

Please bring your own drinks container but we will have water available to refill all bottles.

Bone conducting headphones ONLY are allowed.

Our running events are held on public footpaths so we would be grateful if all runners were considerate of other path users.
